McDonald’s Monopoly 2021: This is how to play and all McDonald’s prizes to be won

McDonald’s Monopoly 2021: When does it start, how do you play and what can you win at McDonald’s? (Photo credit: McDonald’s)

After it was canceled last year due to the effects of the Covid-19 pandemic, McDonald’s fans will be delighted to hear that the fast food franchise has finally brought back its popular promotion, McDonald’s Monopoly.

The popular chain’s high-profile competition has seen a variety of prizes to be won over the past few years, inviting guests to participate by looking for the brand’s monopoly stickers on menus.

Customers can join the game by picking up one of McDonald’s Monopoly boards in-store or online.

Here’s what we know of the game’s return to UK restaurants this year, as far as it starts on August 25th.

What is McDonald’s monopoly?

McDonald’s Monopoly is similar to playing the original board game, where customers can collect stickers and tokens from McDonald’s products that they can use to win a selection of prizes.

Since each color-coordinated game piece corresponds to one of the famous London streets or locations seen on the classic Monopoly board game board, such as Bond Street, Liverpool Street and The Strand, there are some that are rarer and harder to find.

However, these usually hold the larger prizes of the ticket – these can also be won for the McDonald’s Monopoly game pieces.

When does McDonald’s Monopoly start in 2021?

This year’s McDonald’s Monopoly starts today, Wednesday, August 25th, after the originally planned start date of March 2021 has been postponed.

It happened again due to the rising cases of coronavirus and the return of restrictions across the UK.

However, those who want a chance at one of the mysterious McDonald’s Monopoly prizes need to be quick as the promotion ends on October 5th.

According to the McDonalds website, customers should be aware that the chain repurposed the packaging set for the launch of its Monopoly promotion in March, with outdated play parts with incorrect expiration dates rather than those that were updated for the relaunch.

She urges customers to check the dates on her website here.

What prices can we expect?

Prizes up for grabs at McDonald’s Monopoly over the past few years have included instant in-store food and beverage redemption prizes, cash, and more.

There are 50,000,000 instant prizes available, making them the easiest to win.

But in addition to instant prizes, customers are encouraged to collect game tile sets just like they would while playing the popular real estate board game.

If you manage to collect a whole set, the more likely you are to win a bigger prize.

Over the past few years, players have won huge cash prizes, Boohoo vouchers, and those who collected a full set of green tokens could even get their hands on a Mini Cooper in 2019.

While this year’s price range has not yet been fully disclosed, McDonald’s has revealed a great new twist on the highly anticipated return of the competition.

One of the prizes available at McDonald’s Monopoly 2021 is to win a free meal per week for a full year – a special prize only available to 1000 people in the UK who manage to get their hands on a McDonald’s gold VIP card.

The exciting award was proposed for last year’s round of the McDonald’s Monopoly game but didn’t materialize when the pandemic broke out in March 2020.
